Tharmapalan Tilaxan is an Independent Photographer based in Jaffna, Sri Lanka. I've been doing people photography for 11 years. I'm rendering through my images the transformation of Nature, people who live with society &how I see the happenings. My images have opened creative doors for me to express more about these happenings. I like to tell stories of our people in the way of an undisturbed, natural lifestyle. by capturing all those people’s special moments with whole details, I wish to register the happening of the moment and story of people and society at a particular time.

Being a Photography Artist in Jaffna, I perform a dual role in working as Archivist and Artist.

I'm collecting old Photographs and doing documentation regarding Sri Lankan Culture and environment. I collect these photos from old well-known studios, studio persons, and society. I start to buildup an archive for the old photograph history of Jaffna.
