ADRIEN HOUILLERE

Adrien Houillère is a comic book author. Born in 1987 in Caen, he lives and works in Besançon.

After gaining experience in the field of self-publishing, alternative publishing and comics using constrained writing (Polychromie with Polystyrene, 3#3 with The Hoochie Coochie, the Pantaléon series in collaboration with Léo Duquesne, etc.), he is publishing his first long graphic novel in 2019 with The Hoochie Coochie: Francolin, in which he tells the absurd story of a war veteran's homecoming journey and the friendship he forms with Henri, a chatty little mole.

In 2018, he met the French-Sri Lankan choreographer, Sarath Amarasingam. In 2021, he publishes Retrouver Ganesh, published by Delcourt, an intimate graphic novel resulting from this meeting and the discovery of the choreographer's work.

In addition to comics, he works as a poster artist and illustrator for the press, and has collaborated on the design magazine Azimut, has worked with the Club de Amigos del Cartel (a collective of Cuban graphic designers based in Havana), and is very interested in artisanal printing, as evidenced by his involvement in the creation of the Superseñor silk-screening workshop in Besançon.

To expand his skills, in 2022 he decided to become a professional chef.

RETROUVER GANESH

Retrouver Ganesh is a story of meetings. That of Adrien, comic book author, and Vimal Amarasingam, choreographer. That of several cultures that form identities. It is the story of two artists who doubt, of two men who wonder about their path, about the stories they tell, about what unites us in a world of differences. Rarely has dance been so well drawn.
